I seem to have done something wrong here… Thought I followed every step, but I’m the end I can only see the nest presence sensor and nest weather in smartthings. No control of the thermostat at all.

(Eric) #3831

check the IDE “Live logging”

Ensure you copied you id/secret in correctly (no extra spaces)

ensure you use the primary nest account login

(Luc Bouillon) #3832

I don’t really understand any of what I see in live logging…

The client and secret appear to be correct…

I only have 1 nest account…

@E_Sch

EDIT: I noticed in another post above this was caused by REST streaming. I do not have this service turned on.

Logs from Nest Thermostat not updating or checking in.

This just repeats constantly. Fixed by clicking the play button on the smart app. It was happening one a week, then one a day but now it won’t stay connected for more than half an hour.

that all looks normal.

In the ST classic mobile app, when you go into Nest Manager, did you select devices to add to ST (thermostats, protects, cameras?)?

Does it list devices you can add?

(Luc Bouillon) #3835

Just did that now… found it, clicked it, saved it, but still not showing up in my “Things” list

EDIT: closed that classic app and opened the new app and it prompted me to add it to a room, now it’s there. Thanks!

Hi, yes I’ve started having exactly the same problem, noticed it this week and have been trying to work out what is happening. So far I’ve found that (thanks to this thread) the “play” button works to re-start everything and initialising the automations works to start everything again, I’m trying to find a pattern - but what does seem to be consistent is when the thermostat should start heating appears to be the point the updates stop being processed (need to have more evidence). Have you guys found any more info on this at all?

I’ve also raised an issue on GIT https://github.com/tonesto7/nest-manager/issues/639

looks like you can no longer get a developer account so I can’t setup nst manager. Anyone know a way around this?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately when I click on the create a new oath client I just get a message saying that their not accepting new developers. I can login though

(jkp) #3840

I do not know what to say. I just tried logging in and clicked on create new Oauth and it worked so I am at a loss to tell you how to proceed. That message about not accepting new developers is there but it allows me to proceed.

(Eric) #3841

I did this also (with a non-developer account), it asked me to fill in some developer contact information, then let me in to create the oauth.

Hello - I would like to enable/disable the doorbell (Camera) announcements based on different scenes, or maybe a schedule. Specifically, turn off the name announcements during certain times - they kind of freak people out…

@tonesto7

Since you keep up with the Nest API development so well I thought I would ask about when Nest says they will expose facial recognition from their cameras and Nest Aware for integration. It has been a long time coming and right now Netatmo seems to be the only one who does it. I have a bit of an investment in Nest and would prefer only one camera technology in the house.

I too am having the same problem! Please keep us updated if you find a solution.

Beautiful SmartApp! Love the Community Installer - couldn’t have been easier!! FYI - I was able to create a new NEST Developer Account and OAuth without issue even though the header of the page said they weren’t allowing new accounts.

(iamjezz) #3846

Has anyone been able to add the Nest Thermostat E ? i have my account setup however my Nest E thermostat is never an option only my 3rd generation thermostat

(Stuart) #3847

I’m also having the same problem, I didn’t realise I could use the “Play” button, I’ve been going to the login preferences of NST Manager and resetting, then logging back in! Hopefully the play button will work for me too.

I have noticed it seems to occur roughly every 48 hours for me. It’s like the authorisation cookie expires or something maybe?

(Chris) #3848

I started having this issue in December and was never able to resolve, I ended up having to quit using NST manager as it always seemed to happen at night and the temp would drop 10-15 degrees before we noticed it while sleeping.

(Stuart) #3849

I’m having similar issues, we’re suddenly noticing it’s a bit chilly, then realising my Nest temps haven’t increased as per ST/WebCore schedules, and on closer inspection I’m finding the authorisation seems to be stuck and it’s only resolved by the logout/login… it worked flawlessly for about a year, it’s only the last couple of months this has been happening, it’s sooooo frustrating…

Is it something @tonesto7 is aware of/working on?
