[OBSOLETE] Lock Manager

I’d remove the lock from smart things using device exclusion and then add it again. Sounds like there’s something funky with the network. Removing the device and adding it again might repair the mesh network with the lock and give you more consistent results.

great i’ll try that . will i have to reconfigure lock manager?

No, just unselect the lock from the app and then remove and re-pair the lock, then go back into the app and re-select that lock.

perfect . i will report back with results.

Yes, her SmartThings App is up to date to the latest available.
Is there any special restriction on who can Add/Remove/Edit the users?

No, ST doesn’t have anything in the way of permissions across users.

I’ll see if I can replicate the issue, but I doubt it as I don’t have two Android phones… I actually don’t know where my 1 android phone is as last time I charged it to debug an issue my 2y/old took it and I haven’t seen it since.

If you go into the logs on the SmartThings IDE while she clicks on add user, the error will pop up on her phone, but a more detailed error will pop up in the online IDE. Send that to me if you could.

This is the screenshot of error when she tried to add users, but in IDE log, there are no error message showing.

Im running to errors I need help with if possible.

I have two homes with 1 smart things hub in each.
My 1st home has outlets and a HUE being controlled.
My second house only has a Kwikset 914 for wave.

Ive installed the smart apps shown in this first picture.

The ide logs show these errors:

And Finally…
And my iPhone shows this(the Smartapp Caleb was created by the lock manager but is not selectable):

<img

ok seems like when i leave my house and press the schlage name to lock the door. it shows “unknow” otherwise every other way when i lock and unlock the status is fine. btw i did remove and add to smartthings.

worked!!!

Thanks a million.

@ethayer and @jhamstead:

I’ve updated the install instructions post to include:

  • New Keypad child app
  • DTH install (Zwave and Zigbee)
  • DTH assign to lock

And a few minor corrections/formatting changes.

Can you take a look and let me know if you see any errors or omissions that should be corrected/added?

Thanks!

Thanks as well. The instructions look good.

So the battery report is an issue inside the yale lock radio? I’m just wondering if there’s a fix. Right now, it has new batteries but reads 15% so when I use “ask Alexa” app it reports that it’s low.

I don’t think it’s any individual lock or lock manufacturer, I think It’s SmartThings.

Do a forum search, lots of people complaining about the battery reports.

Perhaps open a support ticket.

For what it’s worth, battery types made a difference sometimes. Are you using a Alkaline battery or some other type? Did you try replacing with a different set or checking the battery level? Sometimes batteries are close to DoA.

True, I forgot about that.

Rechargeable batteries are 1.2V while regular rechargeable batteries are 1.5v. The .3v (1.2v over 6v 4 cell battery) difference Isn’t usually a problem, but it will cause the lock to report improper levels. I use rechargeable enloop batteries and the reports kind of stink, but they’re usable.

They were new alkaline batteries. The first were batteries that came with the lock. They worked for about six months. which was good. There’s 5 teenagers coming in and out constantly. Battery level stayed at 100% until they died when it stated batteries at 15%. replaced with alkaline batteries and battery report still states15%. I may try different batteries just for the hell of it.

Also if you’re using the reporting DTH the way it’s designed it can take upto 53 hours before the “new” battery level is reflected. If the lock doesn’t send an updated report it’ll take 53 hours to update it.
