Looks like it was an easy fix…I am going to do some testing and push out the revision. You should see the color of the app change in your IDE…just update it that way.
Ok…The dimmer code (26933) has been updated to 1.0.6 (2/11/20). Enjoy!
I am not sure I ever answered this…you should only have to set the default level…However, you might have push the occupied if the room is in a different state.
I was able to test this, and it’s working as expected. Thank you for the very quick turnaround! As a small note, you typoed my username in the comments
By the way, this database shows that Param 15 values between 5 and 109 are 15 second intervals starting from 60 seconds.
I see most drivers have included the 27 minutes, but I can’t imagine anyone would actually set that; it might make more sense to at least replace that one with the 60 second setting (helpful for me in my bathroom application), or otherwise include a couple of additional settings. Obviously, I can update it in the IDE directly, but wanted to call it out.
Thanks again!
Fixed the typo and republished!
As for the change, yeah…I looked up the Zwave commands for this and it does show that additional timing is available. I might in the next couple days add a revision to that as 1.0.6a…Or I may do it now and see how it works
Edit 1.0.6a is up with a 60 second parameter now.
Thanks Michael. For some reason the level seems to get overridden, but I’m not sure by what exactly.
thank you for the DTH, lifesaver! works like a charm so far
Apologies if the answer is somewhere in this thread already, but I’m wondering which DH can I select in IDE for my 26931 Motion Switch to get it to execute locally? I installed a customer DH when I setup the switch, but I’m working on getting all my devices to execute locally.
TIA
No…there are no community DHTs that can run locally. ONLY SmartThings and other ‘official’ DHTs can run locally.
I am trying to set up all my switches to be motion based except when the switch is manually turned on. If it is manually turned on, I would like the lights to stay on until the switch is manually pressed off, and return to motion based (occupancy) mode.
I tried to create an if/then statement based on physical push, button push, etc but it seems the physical and programmatic pushes are indistinguishable in webcore.
I would like to avoid using double or triple push, as young children or older adults may not remember to do so.
Any ideas on how to identify only a physical button push? Or achieve the desired effect?
Thanks.
I believe you have run into a limitation of the switch because you are correct…virtual presses do appear as physical presses. I can imagine a scenario where you want to differentiate them, but you may want to get creative and compromise on the operation. For example, the end result of turning it on (99% of the time) is motion. So maybe use that logic…instead of differentiating a press maybe you monitor the motion a bit more often…for example, set the motion timeout for a longer interval and then have webcore say “If I haven’t seen motion in 5 minutes then I can safely turn it off”. It is tricky as I have a closet that the main motion sensor works on turning on the light, however, in certain situations it goes off while the person is still in there. A possible solution to that is another motion sensor to verify that all motion has stopped before turning it off.
There is always a technical/monetary/time compromise to get exactly the behavior you want.
Hope that helps.
You might be able to do this with combination of vacancy mode and virtual switch and automations.
If switch is off and motion detected, turn on and turn v1 on.
If v1 is on and button 1 pushed, set mode to manual
If switch changes to off, turn v1 off and change mode to vacancy
I recently had the 26931 installed by an electrician. Realizing I had purchased the wrong model switch as I also wanted the dimming option, I ordered and replaced it with a 26933.
I have only been using the NEW SmartThings app and when I added the device, it was found as a Z-Wave Multichannel Device with limited functionality within the app. I renamed the device “Kitchen Recessed Lights” and have been only able to turn the lights on/off via the switch through the app.
I found your thread here and I installed the device handler in the IDE as instructed on your webpage wiki.
I have the CLASSIC app on an iPad. Using that app, I see my device “Kitchen Recessed Lights” but the Interface as shown on your wiki with all of the options doesn’t appear. Only on/off and dimming. Nothing regarding Motion or any of the other features.
Would I need to delete the “Kitchen Recessed Lights” device from the NEW SmarthThings app (and perhaps the CLASSIC app as well) and then add in the 26933 ONLY in the Classic app? I’m assuming this would be the case in order for your device handler to be fully functional/showing all the switch features.
If so, how would I do that? I’ve never used or added a device in the Classic app before.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
I have not tested this in the new app…but the process to change the light should be easy. First, I assume the light works from your classic app (i.e. turn on, off, etc). If so, you simply go into the IDE and swap out the DTH. To go that, first find the device in your “My Devices” area of the IDE. Then, click on the device to open it up to edit. Click at the bottom to edit it, and change the pull down in the “Type” area to the correct DHT. This assumes you already have the DTH published. The Wiki should guide you through that should you not have it loaded.
Hope that helps!
Fantastic!
I was able to edit the device as you suggested and I now see all of the features.
Thanks very much for the quick and VERY helpful, on-point advice!
the code is no longer working on my dimmer switch. I am unable to turn on the motion sensor…I can select it but after exiting out of the settings ?!
You may have a bad dimmer. First, change the DTH back to the original OEM version. If that doesn’t work, remove and re-add the switch. If that doesn’t work, you probably have some defective hardware.
I’ve been using this with my single 26931 for several months with no issues until yesterday. I have complete control over the light/switch through the smart app but NOT via the manual buttons!!! Also, under the recent activity tab it used to show motion activity and it is radio silence now…last activity was when I changed a setting via smart app yesterday afternoon. From the IDE if I look at the switch under the Devices tab it says that last activity was minutes ago (which is true because people are at my house moving around and stuff) but when I look at “List Events” it shows the same list of events the app on my phone shows from settings change made yesterday. I have DTH version 1.0.5 and am still on the classic app (I have been told by Smartthings/Samsung to wait until I’ve been instructed to switch to new app). Any ideas what could have happened?
Update: Strange things are afoot at the Circle K…I submitted this question and 2 minutes later I got a text from my guests saying that the light switch was working again. Low and behold, I can now see motion updates and such. I’m still curious to understand what happened and if there is a way to fix it in the future…maybe the fix is to post a question on these forums
Is there a way to get the mode of the switch? Manual, occupancy, vacancy in webcore?
