Just to let my contributors know and all ST users who would like to do targeted heating/cooling in their home that I have new versions of my zoned Heating/Cooling smartapps available at my store :
I made some enhancements to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.7.5) and ScheduleTstatZones (v8.7.5) to open all vents when alternative cooling is on. Alternative cooling can trigger any ST connected fan switches (big fan, evaporative cooler, damper) when the right conditions are set at your home based on an (internal) ideal humidity/temp table or a temp threshold.
If you are already a contributor, you can now download the new version at my store using the original sellfy link.
Here are some video links of the Keen Home Vents review made by one of my contributors (Rick’s Tech talk) which explain why the SmartThings setup is far better than the regular Keen Home setup (with the Keen app). You can find my company name under the reviews…
The zoning smartapps can also work with any ST connected smart vents including the Flair smart vents or the econet.

I made some significant optimization to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.7.6), and ScheduleTstatZones (v8.7.6):
When using the alternativecooling settings to control big fan/damper/evaporative cooler switch(es) and the HVAC fan, the new versions will avoid sending the same fanOn() or fanOff() commands if the HVAC fan is already in the correct fan mode.

I made some correction to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.7.7), and ScheduleTstatZones (v8.7.6c):
When using the moreHeat, lessHeat, moreCool, and lessCool thresholds based on an outdoor temp sensor or weather station, the check_if_hold_justified() routine will take into account the null values to revert the adjusted setpoints if needed.

I made some changes to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.7.8):
When a new climate/comfort setting is set at My Ecobee DTH (temporary hold or permanent), the new program heat & cool setpoints will now be set as new baselines for any further setpoint adjustment (based on indoor or outdoor sensors).
Please take note that the climate/confort setting changes were already taken into account for vent adjustment, so this change is just for setpoint adjustments.
After updating the code, one needs to click on the smartapp under Automation/smartapps and save to create the new subscription to enable the change.

I made some changes to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.7.9):
Optimized reverting temp adjustment operations (based on outdoor temp thresholds) to avoid unecessary hold commands sent to thermostat

I made the following optimization to ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8), ScheduleTstatZones,(v8.8), and ScheduleRoomTempControl (v4.6) :
Optimized setVentSwitchLevel() to avoid sending multiple setLevel command to the vents if their current level is already within range of the target level in order to reduce noise.

I have just done a quick read of the vent management. I already have your My Ecobee device handler. All I want is the vents to follow the Ecobee schedule. When an Ecobee sensor is active, the vent regulates the room temperature. If the sensor is inactive, it closes. When the thermostat is in recovery mode, the appropriate vents are opened. Basically I just want to control everything from the thermostat.

I made the following optimization to *ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8.1):
Made minor correction to adjust_tstat_for_more_less_heat_cool() to take into account the right baselines for adjustment*.

I corrected the following minor issues in ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8.5), ScheduleTstatZones (v8.8.4) and ScheduleRoomTempControl (v4.6.3):
Made further changes to the icons path in MyVirtualZone v1.2.1 to display them in the latest version of ST classic mobile app (v1.18 and higher).
Corrected set_fan_mode() in ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule & ScheduleTstatZones to override fan settings when a condition such as the temp differential in the zone is over a temp delta threshold (ex. 4F) and also when no conditions are applied for the schedule

I am just getting starting to investigate what I need for adding smart vents to my HVAC system. I have been leaning toward flair since they are less expensive. What do these smartapps do that the flair app does not do?
Hi, please refer to the 1st post of this thread which explains all the features with links to the ST community wiki…
The Flair app can only use the Flair puck or the ecobee remote sensors to control the vents.
With my smartapps, you can leverage any ST connected temp/motion/contact sensors to control the vents…
On top of it, if you have the ecobee tstat, there is a tight integration with My ecobee device which allows you to adjust the setpoints & fan settings based on different indoor/outdoor conditions.
No other ecobee integration exposes so many features under SmartThings. And, you can use My virtual zone devices to control the vents & zones and get information about your zones in near real time.

I corrected the following minor issues in ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8.8), & ScheduleTstatZones (v8.8.7) :
Made some changes to better control the Flair vents when Switch value=off
Removed some logic related to room tstats to avoid conflict with the Virtual Zone’s setpoints

I corrected the following minor issues in ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8.9), & ScheduleTstatZones (v8.8.9) :
Made some changes in setRoomTstatSettings & turn_off_room_tstats_outside_zones() to avoid any conflicts when the master tstat is also included in the rooms (as a slave thermostat) for the scheduled zones.

I corrected the following minor issues in ecobeeSetZoneWithSchedule (v8.8.9b), ScheduleTstatZones (v8.8.9b), ScheduleRoomTempControl (v4.6.6a) :*
Made some changes to better support the Flair vents
Made some minor icon changes in MyVirtualZone device (see pictures below).
As a reminder, my zoning solutions are fully compatible with MyEcobee Device and MyNextTstatV2 (for the Nest tstat). The Device Type Handlers (DTH) are also available at my store.
I bought a few Keen vents during the Memorial Day sale and I wanted to say THANKS for your work on these device handlers and apps! I’ve got the vents tied to my Ecobee thermostat and sensors and they’ve been doing a great job keeping the room temperatures balanced.
