Hello,
I am trying to add a rachio smart valve to my smart things but rachio does not show up under add device>partner devices…
Am I doing something wrong?
Hello,
I am on the same boat as you. I’ve been using Rachio Smart Valves since the summer and unfortunately I don’t have them connected to Smartthings, however I found a workaround, it’s is not efficient, it is immediate, but allows you to manage the valves through Smartthings…
I will break it down:
- I’m using Virtual Devices from TAustin Shared Projects. Created a Virtual Switch for each valve. Under settings you can configure them to look like a Valve and not a regular switch, which is cool.
- I have Google Home connected to Smartthings, and I can see Smartthings devices in Google Home.
- Rachio is connected to Google Home, and I can manage the real Valves from there.
- I created 2 automations per valve on Google Home (on and off). Example: if Virtual Switch 1 is on, Valve 1 Opens… you get the idea
Hopefully this will help you. I have this setup mostly for manual usage since the Schedules I have setup on Rachio App… however, I’m planning a way to further improve this since I’m not happy with Rachio’s rain skip in my zone…
Cheers
