We are making great progress and would like to get this out to the community as soon as possible. @tonesto7 has helped us with some key pieces and we will be moving to certification once we’ve finished tightening it up.
My use case is to setup a zone for raised garden bed without wiring anything to it, and when it turns on have Smartthings turn on Zwave outlet with rain barrel pump for drip irrigation.
This is fantastic news!!! Such a supporter and you guys even allowed 1st gen users to enjoy the new Alexa functionality. I think this deserves me to fork out for the upgrade to gen 2
I bought a 16 zone Rachio last night on Amazon. Saw it was being offered with a $50 gift card. I look forward to trying it. The house I bought last year has 14 zones. and it’s hard to troubleshoot sprinkler heads with running back and forth to the garage. In fact I did it today…my fit bit said I was doing great!
Just purchased a 1st gen used from a friend that upgraded to a gen 2. I am interested to see how this works. I have a window that if open when the sprinklers go off I get water in my house. Would be cool if my window sensor could disable one of the zones.
With the existing IFTT integration you can get close. You could create a virtual switch and set up a CoRE piston to track the state of the window, Then, if the switch is open, you can create an IFTT recipe that stops watering altogether. Can’t do it on a zone-basis, though. Maybe when we get the proper integration. (Hint, hint!)
