Has anyone created an Edge driver for the Monoprice HKZW-DWS01 Door/Window Sensor?
Raw Description zw:S type:0701 mfr:0208 prod:0201 model:0008 ver:1.05 zwv:4.34 lib:03 cc:5E,86,72,71,59,85,80,84,73,70,7A,5A
I know this has been requested before but just wondering if any one would consider converting the Fully Kiosk Browser DTH in the linked post to Edge (if it’s even possible)?
I use an older Monoprice Z-wave contact sensor (#10795) tied in to my smoke detectors via a relay (via external contacts). I’d like this sensor to be reflected in Smartthings as a smoke detector.
I also use the same sensor as a water sensor to identify leaks. I’d like this sensor to be reflected in Smartthings as a leak detector.
Are either of these configured as of yet?
Thanks!
I know it’s a long way around the barn, exactly what you don’t want for emergency alerts, but @taustin does have a virtual smoke alarm and a virtual water sensor which can both be actuated (turned on or off) from a regular routine.
So you could have a regular routine where the trigger was your contact sensor and the action was “turning on“ the virtual device which serves as the alert trigger in smartthings home monitor or another automation.
The good news is all of this does run locally, unlike the old groovy custom versions.
So I don’t know if it’s of any interest or not, but it might be a workaround for the time being.

an edge driver for tuya local would be nice
The problem is that Tuya uses a lot of proprietary code, and they use different proprietary clusters for different models. So it all comes back to the model number. There are several edge drivers already for different tuya models. Which devices specifically were you looking for?
And have you tried checking the quick browse lists in the community-created wiki? That’s where you can find the existing edge Drivers for Tuya devices.
the devices im trying to add are wifi devices some wifi gu10 bulbs , a Inkbird Digital Wireless Thermostat, ITC-308-WiFi Temperature Controller and a wifi led controller.
Ah, ok. I don’t think anyone’s looked at local control for those yet. I’m assuming you haven’t flashed them to Tasmota, this is the original firmware?
i have a couple of things (sonoff things i flashed to tasmota ) but flashed them back to sonoff as they were so slow operating with the tasmota edge driver compared to ewelink to smartthings cloud
there is a custom Integration for local handling of Tuya-based devices for (home assistant ) but i find home assistant too much hassle .
The Tasmota Edge driver is 100% local vs eWeLink cloud. Could you let me know where is slow for you?
If this is slow, I think even if there is a Tuya local driver, it would still be slow for you.
How about a Edge Driver for Ring Contact and Motion Sensors.
Thank you very much for de device config driver. It works perfectly! Now I can finish my migration to Smartthings. Hero!
Is anyone working on drivers for the alarm keypads? Specifically, I have the old school Iris/Centralite keypad that I use to arm/disarm STHM, using the Rboy device handler and lock user manager code. Interested to see if anyone is getting these to work with Edge. Thanks!
Hi
I need your help
please look at this post and reply me
Does anyone know of a Edge Driver for the Hampton Bay Zigbee fan controller? When I checked the official list of Edge Drivers there is not even a category for Zigbee fans, only Z-Wave. I am willing to kick in some money toward the development of an Edge Driver.
please can we have an edge driver for the cast web api as there will be nothing like it after the groovy goes
thanks
Good night @Mariano_Colmenarejo
Can you create driver for this device?
I deleted it from Smartthings and when I add it it shows up as Thing.
I have your Zigbee Switch MC driver, but it won’t let you select
Data * application: 43
if I go to groovy and change it to zigbee switch it goes to local and it works…
But when groovy goes down I can’t add it anymore…
Sorry for the ignorance…
When you add a new device what are we supposed to do?
Thanks
