Plume/mesh no longer working on v3 Smartthings Hubs

I have five Samsung smartthings v3 hubs, one main ethernet connected to my modem and 4 ‘sub hubs’. The sub hubs no longer register in plume and appear to be “checking” in the ST app. Plume optimization and speed tests no longer work as well. It appears that I’m not alone in this problem, but I haven’t found any solutions here or with samsung technical support.

My 4 subhubs are stuck on “checking” status and produce very spotty internet access as they are categorized as ‘offline extenders’ by Plume. I’ve rebooted and reset the hubs, doublechecked my modem’s status as a passthrough, but nothing seems to change.

This seems to be a problem samsung and the community haven’t solved. Do I need to replace my hubs and do you have any recommendations? Any recommendations for a new mesh network or ST compatible hubs? I’d like to keep my devices on smartthings if possible, but I’m leery replacing hubs with old technology that samsung doesn’t support.

Do you mean SmartThings WiFi (the combined WiFi mesh and Zigbee/Z-Wave hub)?
’SmartThings V3 Hub’ normally means the Zigbee/Z-Wave (and now Matter) hub.
I believe SmartThings WiFi still gets firmware updates, but not as often V3 or V2 hubs.
I have a pair of SmartThings WiFi hubs (ex Vodafone) but never got them working.

The Plume Wi-Fi based ST hubs have been having this issue for at least a year (or more). Supposedly has something to do with an expired certificate that either can’t be replaced or that neither party knows how to replace. The performance issues have been getting progressively worse, so much so, that I just broke down and purchased the Eero 7 Pro 2-pack on Amazon. I’ll use that to replace the Wi-Fi functionality, but leave the hub and sub-hubs to provide a stronger Z-Wave mesh until I eventually move everything to Matter over Thread or Wi-Fi.

Aeotec just announced a v4 hub as the Smart Home Hub 2 with more memory and processing power than the v2 or v3 hub. Downside it doesn’t support Z-Wave. Available in the U.S. at the end of October.

I have a hub and two extenders. Too extenders no longer work for internet. Same issue your having with constantly checking or optimizing.

I just finished up with Samsung technical support who pretty much told me that it’s a known issue there really is not a solution and I would need to replace them. So irritating that because they break the system I can no longer use it. Pretty sure I won’t be replacing them with Samsung
