Photos of insides of various accessories?

Is there a thread that I’ve missed that is dedicated to photos of the internals of various components / accessories?

It would be great to be able to see what’s inside our toys, letting us easily see hackable pieces without each and every one of us having to cut them open, possibly ruining them.

Ha!
so you want someone else to ruin their gear so you don’t have to?

That’s called a teardown, and no, there’s no thread just for that. I suspect one reason is that because of the openness of the SmartThings platform there are literally hundreds of devices that might work with it. It would become very difficult to find any particular device.

People do post teardown photos to relevant threads, including project reports, but it’s always in the context of a particular use case.

If you just want to find a teardown photo of a specific device, Google the brand, model number and “teardown” and you can quite often find one.

For example, a search for “Lowe’s Iris 3460 teardown” finds the following thread over on an iris forum which has teardown pictures:

To find project reports in this forum, The fastest way is usually to look in the quick browse lists in the community – created wiki in the project reports section. The lists are organized by topic, such as mailbox alerts, holiday projects, kitchen projects, etc.

(Also…“accessories” is an apple HomeKit term, here most people just say "devices." )
