Hi - this might be just a frustration unless someone has any experience. I know this is a SmartThings site, but lots of us use Hue for lighting. Without going into the scenario, let’s just say:
- I think I used a plug in that, while it had the right connector tip, might have been higher voltage then what is called for. Would that damage the hub? I figured this out because it has the same plus as my netgear cable modem and the modem didn’t power up when I plugged it in. When I switched plugs (using the one I had used for the bridge) it powered right up. This leads me to believe that the power adapter I used for the modem was under voltage. Therefore, the one I used on the Hue was overvoltage.
- The bridge randomly goes offline
- When my bridge shows connected in the app, none of the lights actually respond to commands, even though they all show as connected (no disconnects ir issues) in the app
- I have done the following:
- Tried a different power adapter
- Tried a different port on my UDM Pro
- Tried turning DHCP on/off and manually assigning a port
- I removed one of my bulbs from Hue just to see if I could add it back. I wasn’t able to confirm I reset the bulb (tried every method…turning off and on 5 times, using the dimmer switch to reset). My hub didn’t find it.
I am super frustrated and if it’s something I did I will be even more frustrated. I am also dreading if it is the hub because I have 30+ lights on the hub. Some outside without an easy way to reset. Others that require me to unplug completely so they actually turn off.
So frustrating! If anyone has any ideas please share!
