The Zen30 switch I am having issues with has 4 dimmer leds lit and the relay led lit, but, when I press the Paddle or the Relay button, nothing happens. It is like it is stuck and offline. I will attempt to Factory Reset it if it responds and I will exclude and then include. Can we assume that the Zen30 footprint is only in the Zooz Edge driver and not in any of Samsung’s default Edge drivers. Its strange that several people are now having issues with the Zen 30’s. When I first purchased mine, they were very easy to include and when initially testing the new Zooz Edge driver, they were working perfectly. Thank you for your hard work on the driver.
The physical button or the button in the mobile app?
I just deleted and re-added and it’s now on an Edge driver. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
I did factory reset it by pressing the bottom paddle for 15 seconds then, when it began flashing, I would press the top paddle for 15 seconds until it began to flash again. Still, when I tried to include it in the z-wave network I could never get it to begin the flashing sequence indicating it was waiting to be found. I tried tapping the top paddle 3x, then 4x, then 5x. The switch worked locally throughout but after the initial install I could never get it to go through the steps to be included. I have the USB stick and thought about firing it up to see what I could see but I’m not sure what I would be looking at. I will make my suicide cord this Friday and try it where my hub is.
Thank you.
Peter
Everyone, I resolved my issue. I tried doing a factory reset, but, that did not work. The Zen30 was not even responding to pressing the Paddle. So, I pulled out the Air Gap Switch, counted about 20 secs and pushed it back in and it came back on line. It did do a factory reset though by itself. That is Ok. As long as I got it back on line. Thanks for everyone’s assistance.
EDIT: Read the thread again and I believe a feature is likely to be added sometime in the future for a “child device”. Looking for confirmation and I’ll patiently wait. Thanks again!
Looked through most of the threads here. Some awesome work with all the edge drivers. Honestly much easier as an end user to install and configured than the IDE (I know not a popular opinion on some of these pages)… Ok now to the point.
My Zen30 only shows up as one device and prior it showed up as two (dimmer and relay). Since it is one device, I can’t seem to control the relay via smarthings or google, only the dimmer. I also can’t figure out how to use the dimmer as a virtual switch. Anyone else have experience with this and the edge driver?
Are Zen23 and similar series (22,24) still on the backlog? Haven’t seen any mention of them since August.
The ability to create separate child devices wasn’t possible when I wrote the driver and it’s still not officially supported yet, but I’ll add that feature once it is…
Yes. Those are the 500 series in-wall switches/dimmers that I mentioned a few posts above…
Robert_Berto,
You will need to create a virtual device and once that's created, you will need to create 4 routines. The reason why is because you need to sync the relay on/off states to the virtual device state on your Zooz 30. If you are unfamilar with setting up virtual devices/routines, let me know and I can assist you.
As someone else has stated in a previous post, I am getting the “Couldn’t get device’s status” for all 5 of my Zooz Zen30 switches. I am guessing that this is an issue that the Samsung developers are working on, but, just wanted to let everyone one know.
Robert_Berto,
Not sure what happened to the previous post. You will need to create a virtual device and once that's created, you will need to create 4 routines. The reason why is because you need to sync the relay on/off states to the virtual device state on your Zooz 30. If you are unfamilar with setting up virtual devices/routines, let me know and I can assist you.
Do you know what firmware is required for the 4-in-1 to work with motion reset adjustment? Mine report firmware 32.32 and none are obeying a change is motion reset time.
@krlaframboise I have a Zooz Zen20 that keeps dropping to offline? The device becomes completely unresponsive both software and physical commands are ignored until a power cycle has been done on the device? Could this be a driver issue or is it something I should talk to @TheSmartestHouse about?
Yes, I have factory reset it many times and excluded it and added it back to the network.
Yes, I have down Zwave network repair.
How long have you had it? I have the latest model and I’m having the same issue on other platforms so the driver isn’t causing it.
With that firmware the range should go up to 255 seconds for that setting.
What value are you setting it to, what behavior are you seeing, and are you sure the device woke up after you changed it?
Ahhh. Seconds, not minutes. The setting says the units are minutes.
I just updated to 240 seconds but it is clearing almost immediately (probably 4 seconds I had it set to) but I know it can take time for the settings to stick.
It shouldn’t say minutes. What profile name is shown at the bottom of the settings screen.
Is there any support for the scene control capabilities of the in-wall dimmers/switches? I have been using the virtual buttons reported when scene control is turned on on my 500 series switch. Thanks.
The Zooz Switch driver will support the 500 switches/dimmers and their central scene feature at some point in the future…
