The ZSE40 driver only has the settings common to all the firmware versions, but creating firmware specific profiles to expose all the settings is on my To Do list…
The initial beta channel was private which is why you had to register to get the link and why there are a bunch of warnings, but that’s no longer necessary so it sounds like @TheSmartestHouse needs to update their site…
The custom driver exposes the settings, but that should be the only difference so if you’re trying to keep your installed driver count low you can use the custom driver to change the settings and then switch the device back to the built-in driver and uninstall the custom driver.
Update: the app was not up to date, updating fixed everything.
I just purchased the Zooz Zen14 Outdoor Double Plug and there are several issues with the current Lua driver for the device. The device control over the individual plugs i.e. Outlet 1 and Outlet 2 is not available for Routines and Scenes. In Routines when trying to control the Outlets after the “Then” statement Outlet 1 only has options for On or Off while Outlet 2 has options for On or Off, On, and Off.
If you try to issue a command only to Outlet 2, no matter what option you select it will set Outlet 1 to on. For example, I try to turn off Outlet 2 when it’s night time, but using a routine it adds a setting for Outlet 1 On, even though I can’t select that option myself as I said before the only option for Outlet 1 is On or Off.
Under Scenes there are only device control options for Outlet 1 (Turn On, Turn Off), there are no options for Outlet 2 or Main.
I recently purchased the same plug and am not seeing those issues. They were there until an update was pushed to the app. Are you on iOS? What app version?
When you write a routine for multi- component devices you need to remember to deselect the “on” button for the main switch before selecting and on or off action for switch 1 or 2.
I am on iOS and that was my issue. The SmartThings app was not up to date. I updated the app and now have all the options I expected in Scenes and Routines. Sorry for the confusion.
Hi, I have 5 Zooz Zen30 Dual Switches and I had been testing the Zooz Egde driver. All of a sudden yesterday evening, one of the switches went offline for no reason and it has not come back online yet. I read some posts above, so, I went to the Zooz Website and completed the registration for all the Zooz devices that I purchased from The Smartest House. My first question is why was only one switch affected and my second question is how do I get it back online? Do I need to exclude it and include it back? This is my first experience with a Zooz switch just going off line and not coming back. Any help will be appreciated.
What happens when you physical toggle the lights?
I know that offline message in the mobile app will prevent you from controlling the device from the device details screen, but have you checked to see if you’re still able to control it from Routines?
Funny, I received a ZEN30 device a couple weeks back. I installed it and it installed but seemed to immediately go offline. I deleted the device (maybe I should have excluded it first?) and tried to add it back but the 3 tap, 4 tap and 5 tap sequences did nothing. I reset the device, which seemed to work but I cannot get it to respond to the include request. As it was late in my time to work on that switch I put in a double analog switch and left it alone. Since then I have bought a plug in order to make a suicide cord with my intention being to set up the switch in the same location my hub is. I simply have not put it high on my priority list to troubleshoot yet. Sounds like our issues are similar. Maybe there’s a bad batch of ZEN30s? It happens. Hope to do that this coming weekend as it’s late in the weekend now. I have so many projects that finding new things to correct is easy and returning to a frustration is enough to keep me away.

Even if ST thinks the device is offline, the device still thinks it’s joined to the hub so you can’t add the device again without first excluding it…
The device most likely wasn’t actually offline and physically toggling the switch, executing a routine, and/or power cycling it might have solved the problem, although power cycling it is harder with wired devices…
What method did you use?
I’m not sure why, but some users have run into a problem where some of the events that are supposed to get emitted when the device is joined don’t resulting in some of the tiles showing that cloud symbol so I can’t rule out the driver as the cause of this issue.
SmartThings finally supports the ability to create standalone child devices for hub connected devices so when I add that (optional) feature to the driver I’m going to look into the other problem too, but I need to wait until it’s officially supported before doing that to avoid having to mess with it again if they end up changing the implementation…
I’d start by factory resetting it again just to be 100% sure that it isn’t still joined to ST…

- Zooz ZEN06 Smart Plug
- Zooz ZEN15 Power Switch
- Zooz ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay
- Zooz ZEN71 On/Off Switch
- Zooz ZEN72 Dimmer
- Zooz ZEN73 Toggle Switch
- Zooz ZEN74 Toggle Dimmer
- Zooz ZEN76 S2 On/Off Switch
- Zooz ZEN77 S2 Dimmer
@krlaframboise I know it’s a big ask but would it be possible to get a list of the drivers in a priority order that are in queue for development.
Maybe that way it will let those looking for certain drives to know where they stand in the development cycle. I think it would help minimize the amount of questions of when is “xyz” driver COMMING and ETA on “xyz” driver questions. Just a thought.
The only remaining devices that will be getting drivers are the 500 series in-wall dimmers/switches, but I most likely won’t have time to start working on those for a couple of weeks…
I’ll be publishing a new version of the Zooz Multisensor driver tonight, but that just adds some additional profiles to the ZSE40 because it has multiple firmware versions with different configuration parameter options.
ZEN51 works just fine (for my use case, anyway - garage door control).
Thanks for your patience and diligence - and remarkable products!
Any chance you added the fingerprint for my mystery ZEN06 we’d messaged about?
The version I just published should have that change so have you tried changing the device to this driver?
SmartThings finally supports the ability to create standalone child devices for hub connected devices…
That turned up with the Qubino Flush 2 relay driver in the Community repo. Two devices are created - the second relay is an EDGE_CHILD device. The second device works initially but goes wrong after a short interval. logcat shows commands going to the wrong device. Maybe tomorrow’s hotfix will help. Best to wait for the feature to stabilize.
Roger that, I have 20+ zen23 and zen24 installed as well as a zen26. So I will definitely be testing the hell out of those drivers.
Zooz Multisensor - Update (10/30/2022)
ZSE40 Changes:
- Added Motion Clear Time Setting which supports different ranges based on the firmware version.
- Added 4th option for LED Indicator for the older firmware versions.
