[OBSOLETE] Timer After No Motion Detected - regardless of how it was turned on or whether there was any motion

If the light is turned on and no one ever entered the room, I still want it to turn off after 10 minutes. Can this be done?

You can add new OR condition for light is on for 10 min

If I set it up like that, wouldn’t the light just always turn off after 10 minutes of turning it on? Even if I’m in the room and motion is detected?

Then you can do two routines

That also won’t work. Say for example the light is turned on at 12:00. Motion isn’t detected til 12:05. The light will shut off at 12:10, when it should shut off at 12:15.

I thought that the objective was that the light did not accidentally stay on, not that it had to meet an exact on time.

For that you can use a resettable timer virtual device from @TAustin instead of the app’s timers, which cannot be controlled once triggered
