[OBSOLETE] Lock User Management (LUM)

Hi RBoy-

Can I make a feature request (if even possible)? Is there any way to allow customization of the push notification text? As an example. Now when someone unlocks the door and they have a custom action take place on unlock, it reads something like "Jason unlocked the front door deadbolt [kitchen lights turned on], ect and I would like to make it say something like “Jason is home” or simply remove the info about what actions were triggered. Is that something that is feasible in a future release?

Thanks!
-Jason

So would I be accurate I saying you would like an option to simplify the notifications? Either give details of all actions taken or just notify that X unlocked the door? Reason I’m asking is there are lots of different types of notifications, locks unlocks, jams etc. being able to customIze each of them will overly complicate the UI

I personally like ones that say "Front Door Deadbolt was unlocked by [user name]"and that is all. I don’t really like the ones that announce this was run and this light was turned on etc. I was thinking the ability to customize all of them IF the user wanted to, would be a nice feature. I realize the UI could get cluttered, so maybe its not in the app as you walk thru it. Maybe the very last screen before saving it is just for notifications and it lists the notifications you have enabled and you click to customize or skip over to leave as default?

I have no idea how complicated something like that would be, but I just like the idea of being able to control what it says and i know that some people like to know what is happening, what routines may be running etc.

love the app regardless. still shocked that ST doesn’ thae any type of native support for setting up lock codes and users…???

thanks!

Possible to suppress SmartThings notifications when they unlock using the keypad, and just send text message(s)? I thought “disable all push notifications” might do this, but it disables the texts as well.

Thanks and I understand you can’t please everybody

Actually looks like this was a bug introduced recently with the redesign and new ST contact address book notification feature. By default disableAllNotifications should disable all Push notifications but should not impact text notifications. Will fix it, thanks for reporting it.

###Multi User Lock Code Management with Notifications and Actions - Version 5.1.2

  • Fixed a bug which caused disable all push notifications to also disable text notifications

Recommend use the [Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock] ([RELEASE] Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock, Schlage Lock, Yale Lock, Kwikset Lock, IDLock, DanaLock, August Pro and Samsung Lock Device Handler with Alarm Control, Notification, RFID, Door Sensor and advanced features) device handler version 3.0.1 or later for full SmartApp functionality

Thanks to DnCCrew for this step:

Set the hub Location for scheduled/expiry codes to work correctly, from smartphone app:

  1. Clicked on the 3 lines (top right corner)
  1. Clicked on gear icon (top right)
  2. Click area that says “Tap to set where home is on the map” and zoom in to correct location on map.

You mentioned contact address book notification what is this?

It’s a feature that ST is testing for some users, you can search the forum for details on it and how to enable it for yourself if you want to use it. Remember ST hasn’t released this officially and has a few issues so be sure you want to try it before you enable it.

I am looking for a couple functions, and it seems like there is no way to do them. Am I missing anything?

  1. I would like to assign a user access during 2 different times of day, say 6am-8am and then again from 3pm to 11pm.
  2. I would like to assign a user access for different times depending on the day, so 3pm-11pm S-T and 3pm-12am Friday and Saturday

Are either of these scenarios possible?

Thanks,
Erik.

Right now only 4 modes are supported:

  1. Permanent
  2. One time (use and burn)
  3. Expiration based (provide a start date/time and end date/time)
  4. Single Schedule (Single start time to end time in a day and days of the week)

Will look at adding multiple schedules for a future release.

###Multi User Lock Code Management with Notifications and Actions - Version 5.1.3

  • Added the ability to select operating modes for auto relock

Recommend use the [Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock] ([RELEASE] Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock, Schlage Lock, Yale Lock, Kwikset Lock, IDLock, DanaLock, August Pro and Samsung Lock Device Handler with Alarm Control, Notification, RFID, Door Sensor and advanced features) device handler version 3.0.1 or later for full SmartApp functionality

Hi,

Im still having issues with my lock… Ive got the latest device handler and smartapp. I setup the auto relock within the app and it works for couple hours only… When I do a zwave network repair, it seems to fix it but only for a few hours… All the other features work just great… Is it still an issue with ST scheduling or am I missing something?

No that’s a network issue. It’s possible you have an errant zwave active device. I would suggest contact ST support to find the root cause of the network trouble. I’ve also got to do network repairs but that’s usually once a month or so not this often. Try rebooting your hub

Ive got a GE Outdoor Light Plug-and-Control Power Outlet for our Christmas lights that I remove after use… It’s still registered in smartthings but as inactive. Could it be the problem since it’s still in the database but inactive for several months? Should I remove it when not in use?

it may be possible if its still plugged in. powered devices shouldnt be inactive if they are plugged in. it could be another powered device. cant say without looking at your setup. but if a repair is fixing the issue i think support should know about it. i had suggested to @slagle sometime ago maybe ST should initiate an automatic repair when tge network degrades.

FEATURE REQUEST: First off, just LOVE this app, thank you for all of your work on it–and the custom DH. I’ve been using this app since you first offered it back in January 2015, and it’s been amazing to watch this app evolve! I use it for all my vacation-rental properties with great success!! Yes, with ST updates, and your updates and version upgrades, there have been some glitches, but none that you have not immediately addressed and improved. I really appreciate the ability to set the calendaring of a guest with “start-and-stop” " time-and-date" for their key code with the “Expire On” function. I’ve cut my time scheduling codes down to a third; using the IDE with your app installed, no more mis-thumbing it on my phone or pad, I just enter the codes and dates and times on my computer keyboard. I’m overjoyed that when a guest successfuly enters their code, your app automatically changes the Mode from ARMED to GUEST, as I set it to do. Your app allows me to set a ONE-TIME code for a contractor or neighbor, if need be. You app works on ALL of my Kwiksets (914s and 916s, with Z-Wave, of course), and on ALL of my Schlages (FE599) locks. Since your release of 5.0 going forward (plus updates to the DH), not ONE problem, only improvements, so you are obviously hitting your stride with this remarkable app! You really should target it to property owners, real estate and booking agents. How is it that ST hasn’t come up with all of this? Or hired you?! But I digress.

What about adding the ability to auto-change Mode upon code Expiry, whether on a One-time basis, or an Expire-on?
Guest key-code expires: Mode is changed to Armed (or whatever mode I set).

Seems like the only thing you’re missing.

Don’t know if you are Our-boy, but you’re definitely mine!

Ciao!

With the latest release the door is auto relocking even when the door hasn’t been opened. Is there a way to change this amount of time? The door is relocking before I get into the house (we have a detached garage and two kids to take out of the car).
I like how it automatically locks after the door has been opened but need to set the relocking when the door hasn’t been opened to a longer time.

Thanks,

Brian

You can set the timeout in the settings page.

Thanks for your support. I hear your need. The one thing we try to ensure in all our apps is to keep the user interface simple. We have been getting lots of requests for a version more geared towards property rentals which will include more advanced features such as AirBnB integration. Will add your request to the list of features for that version.

Meanwhile a simple way to do this would be to ask your tenants to press the lock button (assuming you have the Schalge 469 or compatible Yale) from the outside and configure actions for that event.
