[OBSOLETE] Keenect V1.2.0, optional separate vo settings for cooling, vent obstruction auto clear

can you have a look in the IDE, my locations, list smart apps, find one of your zones, then post the screen shot of the application state section, it should look like this:

Sure thing…

Was your system heating or cooling when you sent the screen shot of the current state report?

It was cooling at the time.

The cooling setpoint didn’t get passed to the zones when the system came on, why I don’t know.
There should be an event in the ide live logging for each zone when the system starts, showing the setpoint comming in, as well as set point changes in Keenect as well.
If you could fire up the live logs before the next system start up, that should help isolate the issue.
I wasn’t able to replicate this problem when I tested with a virtual thermostat, but these do not have an auto mode like a nest…

So in logging for the keenect app I see:
069142d0-ba0f-4d9c-895e-e3241406a8cb 8:43:08 PM: info Main HVAC state changed to: cool
069142d0-ba0f-4d9c-895e-e3241406a8cb 8:43:08 PM: debug dataSet: [msg:stat, data:[initRequest:false, mainState:cool, mainStateChange:true, mainMode:auto, mainModeChange:false, mainCSP:72.0, mainCSPChange:false, mainHSP:70.0, mainHSPChange:false, mainOn:true]]

I changed the log level on one of the zones to detailed and see the following:
dd4b3666-f01e-4607-89e9-041143ad361d 8:43:08 PM: info Zone temp is 74.0°F, cooling setpoint of No data available yet. is not met, vents at 100%
dd4b3666-f01e-4607-89e9-041143ad361d 8:43:08 PM: info setVents- [Living Room Vent], changeRequired: false, new vo: 100, current vo: 94
dd4b3666-f01e-4607-89e9-041143ad361d 8:43:08 PM: info setVents- [Dining Room Vent], changeRequired: false, new vo: 100, current vo: 98
dd4b3666-f01e-4607-89e9-041143ad361d 8:43:08 PM: warn setVents- newVo: 100
dd4b3666-f01e-4607-89e9-041143ad361d 8:43:08 PM: info Main HVAC is on and cooling

Ok that’s helpfull. Let me see what’s up…
I should have an update for this in the morning, won’t be able to get it out tonight.

OK, no worries there at all. THANK YOU so much for working on this, I greatly appreciate it.

a thought… you have given us heat and cool setpoints in zones and you have given us min and max vent opening in zones so what are the chances of Min max for Heating and Min Max for cooling in zones? That way we dont need cranky zones for summer and winter

If there is a need, and that is in fact how the system wants to operate then this can be done.
So you’re saying that the VO’s are wanting to be different for AC and heating?

I was able to duplicate this to some extent when I enabled AC for my system for the first time, and I noticed the configuration page didn’t report the cooling set points until I went into each zone and just selected done (refreshing the zone), after doing that the cooling set points reported in the configuration page.
After that starting up my fake AC produced the expected logging for the zone.

7:29:40 AM: info Zone temp is 70.0°F, cooling setpoint of 70°F is met, setting vents to 0%
7:29:31 AM: info Zone temp is 71.0°F, cooling setpoint of 70°F is not met, setting vents to 40%
7:29:31 AM: info Zone exited quick recovery mode.
7:29:29 AM: info Zone temp is 72.0°F, cooling setpoint of 70°F is not met, vents at 100%
7:27:38 AM: info Zone temp is 73.0°F, cooling setpoint of 70°F is not met, vents at 100%
7:27:38 AM: info Main HVAC is on and cooling

correct. In the winter I have rooms that need a ton of heat to keep warm but in the summer they need less AC so I need to have the vents at different levels based on time of year.

OK, I’ll give that a shot and see if I can do that. It will probably be a bit later today as it got surprising cold last night and I’m already getting complaints of testing out the AC system too much.

just tab through your zones now, no need to have it running when you do that.
99.999% sure that will get things going next time ac fires up…

I am waiting for the heat to settle in so I can redo my zones too because vo is not the same between cooling and heating. If we could have different vo for cooling and heating that would be awesome. Will make life so much easier when seasons change. @Mike_Maxwell

Just a heads up, I’ve got the code to support separate optional cooling vo’s, should get this released this weekend if initial testing goes well.
I can only test this with a virtual thermostat, as i have no ac in my house.

I envy you in the summer but not the winter

Despite what our latitude might suggest, a cold winter here is 30 degrees…

where abouts is that I am in

Seattle!..
