NVIDIA’s CEO just announced integration with SmartThings in the new version of their gaming console/set-top box, Shield, due out later this spring.
I didn’t get a picture, but some guy on Twitter did.

I know that its alpha and beta info (the open source parts anyway) are available if you are a registered developer of a certain standing. Using Jetson to do it so the end result should be impressive!

So I might actually have to migrate to a V2 hub? That might be a bigger hurdle than the price tag on the Shield.

I could not find any decent integration between Smartthings and Shield TV/ Fire TV, so I worked my way on it.
I’ve just published it on Github , here:

There are 2 components:
a modified Android TV keyboard with a REST API which can receive certain commands from network
Device handler for Samsung Smartthings platform
Keyboard application is ready (precompiled) in the release-apk folder. You can also download it directly from Google Play Store at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aktuna.tv.keyboard Device handler is available as groovy source code in the device-handler folder.
