1.Smart Home Monitor
2.Click the gear
3. Click the plus next to custom
4. Click the plus to new monitoring rule
5. Select Device Type - open/closed sensor
6. Select Device
7. Set your preferred settings

You know what, I was going to post that this morning as well. I found this last night. I do wish the dashboard had summary level looks at Things. Maybe just group all the types together…for example all doors, or contact sensors, locks, motion etc…so you can see at a glance what things are doing. I think this has been said before.
At the very least, I now have that alert back which should work well! Thanks Kevin for posting.
Yes, you’re right. Thanks for finding it. Too bad custom rules do not appear to the dashboard or even on the SHM’s main screen.
And I just tested it with push alerts and I didn’t get a notification when the rule went into place. I believe I have heard this was happening as well so another thing they have to take a look at.
