Trying to add a “no name” door sensor.
Simple support for open/close.
It wont show up when i pair it.
Is there a way to see in the logs somewhere if the sensor and hub even see each other?
Here’s the FAQ on the logs:
Logs and SmartThings:
https://graph.api.smartthings.com: This is the first place to go when SmartThings are not acting right. This is also the developer site, even if you’re not geek this is an excellent resource to check logs and forcibly delete smart apps and devices.

This is where real time logs can be found. If you are having problems paring new devices or debugging code, this is a great place to start.

Great place to see hub connectivity all PING’s (I’m Alive) and hub disconnect/reconnect messages can easily be seen here. These entries are historical up to 7 days

And the following thread has my favorite example of someone creating a new device type handler for a zigbee device, you’ll see a lot of examples of what they’re looking for at the time of the join that might be helpful if your device is also zigbee:
I’ve tried every combination of device handler / SmartApp in this thread and I can’t get it working either. I can pair the device just fine, but none of my button presses are registering at all. Previous to this I had tried the Aeotec Key Fob, which is a Z-Wave key fob that SmartThings officially supports but that didn’t work either. I wrote it off as bad hardware and returned it. Now I’m starting to wonder if there’s an issue with my Hub. This doesn’t require the v2 Hub, does it? Any idea why some of us can’t get any events to register at all?
What’s the brand and model of the sensor you’re working with?
