New (used) V3 hub setup

I picked up a used V3 hub from eBay to see if it would address the Z-wave issues I’ve been having for a few months on my V2. I’ve tried several times to reset and I can’t get it to connect to my network.

Have reset the hub; I think I’m letting go of the button at the right time but is there a specific combo of lights after that which would confirm? I think the first one I saw was blinking blue.

If I try to connect it via Ethernet, the app setup process still asks me for a WiFi network. At that stage, neither Wi-Fi network in my house shows up on the list (but lots of neighbors’ networks do). I’ve tried entering one manually but no dice.

Any chance the issue is that it’s still registered with a previous account? Bad Wi-Fi radio?

You may need to do the network trick to get it to install the latest firmware. Search the forum for how to block NTP at your router.

Got it! I did set up the network block, but I don’t think that was the issue; I was connecting via Ethernet, but the setup still wanted a WiFi network, and the two SSIDs from my mesh network weren’t appearing on the list. I turned on the WiFi on my cable modem and that did show up and allowed me to complete setup, but after setup it doesn’t appear to be needed anymore…
