Today we are launching a new version of our Arlo integration, which adds support for more Arlo devices, improves stability, and reduces latency for faster viewing of your camera or video doorbell clips. It is now accessible through the SmartThings app catalog.
This is our first launch of an integration built in partnership with Arlo on SmartThings Schema. This new integration supports more of Arlo’s newest devices, as well as existing devices that were supported through the existing Groovy cloud-to-cloud integration. Over the next few weeks, SmartThings will migrate Arlo users to the new integration without any impact to their existing devices or automations. We will inform you before that migration begins.

Do I need to do anything now?
Current Arlo users can continue using the legacy integration with their existing devices for now.
To onboard any of the newly supported devices, you will need to use the new integration. Doing so before you are migrated to the new integration may result in duplicate devices at your location. We recommend all existing users wait to add newly supported devices until the migration is complete. Don’t worry, it’s coming very soon!
If you choose to add a newly supported device before migration starts, you can avoid duplicate devices by manually migrating to the new integration. Please be aware that this will also remove any existing automations and scenes that include Arlo devices.
To manually migrate to the new integration, follow these steps:
- From the Home screen, select Menu (
) and tap on the gear icon. - Navigate to the Linked services page and tap on the Arlo integration.
- Select More Options (
) and delete the integration. - From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Device.
- Select Arlo and tap Camera > Arlo or Lighting > Arlo Security Light.
- Choose a location and room, and touch Next to enter your Arlo account credentials.
- Select the Arlo cameras or lights to connect and tap Done.
- Tap Done again to complete setup.
