New phone login loop

Long time v2 hub. No recent changes on that end.

Family member got new phone (android). Installed ST app (latest version on google play).
User can open chrome and go to account.samsung.com and login successfully. Not a password issue. Can browse through account site.

When they open ST app, click the login button, they are prompted to login. Put in creds and page takes a few seconds (5 to 10) and then goes back to ST screen and still has the login button display. Home info is missing.

If they click login again, it open the samsung page that says “Continue with xxx@xxx.com”. Click button and immediately comes back to same screen.

Switched default browser to edge. Only diff after the login was a prompt to switch back to ST app or continue in edge

ST on old phone still works but afraid to log out in case I cant get back in.

User account is a restricted user but tried making them a full admin as well. They are using old phone for SHM until new phone works

Cleared app data/cache multiple times. Cleared cookies for samsung. When I do, it prompts for login again instead of the continue page, but same result

Looking for ideas to try next. It is almost like it does login but for some reason the configuration is not downloading to the phone after successful authentication.

Can you provide more details on the phone… brand/model and version of Android? You stated you have the latest version… what is the version of the app?

Any type of software that blocks ads/malware? I doubt this is the issue but just posting as one possibility.

Pixel 8a
Android 15 - Dec 5 Sec update
ST App 1.8.21.28
Chrome - 131.0.6778.200

No virus/sec software.

Brand new setup

You might try downloading a previous version from one of the APK sites. Any version before October.

Tried that as well. a 1.7 version. same issue

Don’t know what I just did, but it was finally able to connect and download the location settings and that user can see/control what they should.

was trying several options of old versions/browsers/etc and was trying to get FF setup as default to try it, and when I opened the ST app, it was still using the InApp version of Chrome. While trying to close that out and reset the app, all of the sudden the home information showed up.

Might have been something that I did. Might have been somethings fixed on the backend. I would not think the firmware updates would have affected this, but…

All working now
