Orro Home switches are added

Expensive, but interesting. This is the Wi-Fi switch for people who pay $4000 for their television.

It has Alexa built in, both a sound and motion sensor, A nice intercom feature, Is promising it will soon be able to display video from a smart doorbell, and looks very slick. But it does cost $200 per switch.

No word yet on whether the sensors will be exposed to smartthings or whether smartthings will just be able to turn the switch on and off.

At the time of this writing if you sign up for their newsletter, you get 10% off one switch on your first purchase.

I’m not crazy about Wi-Fi switches, but with the video display and Alexa included with this one it looks like a good protocol choice.

If somebody gets one, start a discussion thread for it under devices. :sunglasses:

Nice! Will be good to have another garage controller option with Nexx. Looks like it’s the Somfy zigbee devices since it goes through the zwave/zigbee joining process.

Everything is on the cloud via WiFi.

.

The Amazon Alexa integration can only be activated for one WiZ home at once, otherwise Alexa would not know which home to control. Thus, when you activate the Alexa integration for a new home, it will alert you with a pop-up in the WiZ application that the preexisting integrations will be disabled.
.
The impact is equivalent to “de-activating” the toggle button next to your Alexa integration in the WiZ application for your “old” home.

They call it WiZability
I call it Wi-fi overload lol

that seems
normal for a cloud integration?

Also interesting: the same company that own Philips Hue also owns WiZ as of May this year.

Which thermostats is smartest for home usage?
How to choose best thermostats?

Anything that is supported in your region. SmartThings can handle the smarts, remote sensing, etc. so something fancy isn’t needed.

Welcome! :sunglasses: This thread is only intended to be a list of new brands which are added to the V3 app for automatic discovery.

So it should be limited to just a couple of posts about any one brand, typically a mention if it’s region specific or what type of device it is.

Yours is a great question, it just doesn’t belong in this particular thread as this type of discussion here would make this thread become very hard to read for others in the future. :scream:

Please start your own topic in the projects section of this forum and people will be happy to give you lots of individualized advice depending on exactly what you are looking for. :sunglasses:
