If you’re currently running the Thread firmware, could you please tell me the firmware version? Today I switched to the Zigbee firmware to test my driver, switched back to Thread and now I’m confused if I have received a new version, because the device seems to be much more reliable.
You have, 1.1.0.1 is new.
I have 1.0.7.3 the app says it’s current.
So that’s a good tip how to get the newer firmware.
Does this FP300 allow zigbee control and connect directly to a STv2 hub? I’m not keen on buying an Aqara hub.
You can use this driver. The driver itself works quite well, but don’t expect to much from the device itself.
Reminds me that I wanted to push an update…
Edit: the most recent Zigbee firmware is not without issues…
@Andreas_Roedl does that mean the fp300 will be worth buying and can be paired via thread without losing anything?
Thanks
Dom
Difficult question.
It worked flawlessly with the Zigbee firmware and my driver, but I prefer Matter over Thread. Now I’m testing the new firmware to see if the device goes offline again.
Can’t really say if it’s worth it or if the FP310 might be a better choice.
Please post how everything goes. Thank you
@Andreas_Roedl did eveything work with the update?
Yes. Still can’t tell if the connection is more stable, because with the previous firmware version, the device went offline every two to four weeks.
I’d say that the detection works as reliable as with the Zigbee firmware and my driver.
@Andreas_Roedl thank you. Im going to order one and give it a try. I always have the problem with my zigbee sengled light strips going off line. Sometimes i think its samsung doing somethings software wise lol.
I just found out that the fp300 was on sale from the Apple Store for a while at £34.95 which is definitely a good price. May have been a temporary promotion as it’s not listed at all any more.
