Firstly, thank you for the detailed setup instructions. They are excellent.

As for Instant, in my case Arm Stay has a delay built in for one of our doors due where our keypad is located. I contacted my service provider and if they changed Arm Stay to instant alert, it also changes it for Arm Away - in other words the delay for Arm Stay and Arm Away must be the same. Therefore we use Arm Instant so if any door or window is opened it immediately notifies the monitoring center.

On the Total Connect 2.0 app, we do not use the Arm Stay button but instead use the Virtual Keypad and type in our Arm code and then 7 which is the command to Arm Instant.

If there was a way to mimic the virtual keyboard through a tile, that would take care of this problem for me (and possibly others).

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you know where I’m from?

Ohhh okay that clears it up for me now. I’m definitely not sure about that, but it sounded like @fordcrews does based on his response above.

No worries, thanks Brandon.

I looked at the API documentaiton and it looks like the SendKey function may do just this:
https://rs.alarmnet.com/TC21api/tc2.asmx?op=SendKey

@fordcrews Not sure how difficult it would be to add this in though?

Thanks for your detailed instructions.

I did exactly what you described but I am experiencing an issue.

When I try to arm the alarm using the app, the status changes to arming, and then changes back to disarmed. I.E. it won’t arm the alarm. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

I’m from Fresno…the family name comes up.

Oh, right on. Haha small world! Yeah we now include smartthings with every home we sell.

Hey there, you may need to cut one digit from the end of the Device ID you’re using to make it only 6 digits long. It seems like sometimes only the first 6 digits are needed and sometimes the first 7 are. Not sure why. If that doesn’t help will need the others in this thread - chime in because that’s my only suggestion.

Thanks for developing it. I am not a developer nor a computer guy… i am having a bit of trouble setting it up…Questions:

  1. Do I need to install Both Tester and Master App?
  2. LocationID is not pulling up from Total Connect, is there anyway I can use a default or something. I only have one location to take care of.

Thanks.

  1. No, just the tester SmartApp. And the only reason for it is to figure out what your Device and Location ID’s are.

  2. Hmmm, so add terry installing the greater SmartApp (with live logging running) you only see Device ID come up in the feed? I’m not site about this one. @fordcrews? @qccowboy?

Brandon,

I re did everything… i got it to the point where i see the on my mobile app all the functions, but it doesn’t arm or arm stay

Sorry Did finish…

It just goes back to Dis Arm Automatically…

@triggertact Have you looked into getting a Honeywell vam or vista automation module. I had recently ordered one cheap online and just read the manual. It allows you to connect directly to your vista without total connect service through the internet or directly to it through your lan. The manual says it can be used as a secondary controller when connected to another z wave network. Just my thought of an advantage is to reduce any delay and not be required to go through Internet. I am trying to automate a water shut off valve after major water damage. I am looking to prevent anything that could make it unreliable. In my last case the water leaked into basement directly over my modem and router. If this required interent I may have been sol.

Just a thought. Not sure yet how to implement it.

Thanks.

Couple a questions (sorry I haven’t delved to deeply into the troubleshooting process here yet on this one.)

1). Which code are you using for the device handler? I think there are a few different ones floating around now and to help diagnose it would really help.

2). Did you validate everything on the Total Connect side as well (do not prompt for user code being a key one)?

3). Do you have any faulted zones when trying to arm?

4). Have you set the alarm to armed (manually) and done refresh in ST to see if it recognizes the change in status?

  1. New App: Integration with HoneyWell TotalConnect Alarm & Monitoring System -this is the code that I was using

  2. user code? Not following your questions…

  3. No faulted Zones…

  4. It show me the correct status on ST Mobile App… if I am armed away it show armed away, but I can’t change it from Armed Away to Disarm

Thanks in advance for your help

It sounds like your problem very well could be a result of the User Code Prompt matter. See “…make sure Prompt for User Code box is unchecked…” part of Step 1.

Thanks… Now a new problem… it is stuck on “Arming…”
