I have a Nest Camera plugged in to a SmartThings Power Outlet with the outlet turning on and off automatically when SmartThings goes into away and home modes. The problem is that the camera doesn’t seem to start most of the time.
When the socket turns on, it will report a pull of up to 1 watt for a few seconds which will steadily decrease until it’s reporting zero. When the camera works, the socket will report a pull of around 2.4 watts before settling at 3 watts.
Turning the socket on and off multiple times until the camera suddenly works seems to be about the only options, which makes using the power outlet pointless. Both devices work fine independently.
Has anyone used a nest cam with a power switch like this before and seen something similar?
