Need help with Proflame 2 controller

Hi guys,

I recently got a Montigo gas fireplace and I want to be able to control it via my SmartThings hub with Z-Wave.

The fireplace I have use this as controller : https://www.montigo.com/drive/uploads/2017/11/XG0677-EN-Proflame-2-Instructions-151123.pdf

I think I can use this zwave dry contact relay to control the on/off function : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01MSEG2J1/ref=pe_3034960_233709270_TE_item

As far as I know, I only need to provide 120v power to the relay module and then connect the relay load to the controller.

Am I on the right track? Anybody got this to work?

PS : I’m not an electrician or anything and I will not wire everything up by myself since I don’t really know what I’m doing.

Hi there,

Your solution looks like it could work, but you won’t get the flame levels running it on a relay instead of the remote. I have the Proflame 2 GTMF and I had good luck with BOND Home. It mimics the RF functions in the 315MHz remote. I programmed on, off and three flame levels (1, 3 and 5 bars). It isn’t Z-wave and the communication isn’t two-way, but it does provide control from SmartThings via IFTTT. I primarily wanted a way to turn it off automatically at night and turn it on via voice command, so it’s good enough.
