Can someone recommend a reliable motion/illuminance/temperature multisensor? Preferably one that is plug-and-play vs. needing to download 3rd-party drivers (unless doing so is idiot-proof ).
I’m looking to add another to complement my current Inovelli 4 in 1 sensor (LZW60) which has been fine but is no longer sold. I would like to stick with Z-Wave as most of my devices are Z-Wave.
I have a V2 hub, so Thread/Matter won’t work for me (and Thread/Wi-Fi would have crazy short battery life I assume).
I’ve been using Zooz 4-in-1 sensors for a long time (the ones I have are not current models). The ZSE11 looks like the current model. They seem to be pretty reliable and were easy to integrate. They need a driver, but Zooz provides one.
Different use case than above, but recommendations would be good for a US application. Would like to have line/USB powered, lighting and temp at a minimum. Given the trending of Samsung from Z Wave, would prefer Matter, maybe Zigbee that can readily be plugged in and/or permanently mounted. I currently have:
HomeSeer HSM200 Z which meets my current needs, but unfortunately the light sensor is unreliable and uses Z wave. The plug in form factor works really well for my needs. I’m looking to replace these with something that doesn’t need to be reset randomly.
Aeotec multi sensor 6, which works fine, a bit pricey, but can be usb powered and uses Zwave. They work great, but mounting is a bit harder as they have small screw holes. I don’t plan to replace these, given the cost and they are working well.
Anything that is Matter? Line powered and easy to mount in different positions?
I had been using older ST motion senors but the battery life isn’t great esp. as ambient temp drops, recently with notifications every time the driver decides the batt level drops from 33 → 0%, and after a particularly unhelpful reply here that I should “write your own low battery notification routine”, I just went ahead and bought some Hue motion senors - which also report light and temp, but use AAA batteries while only a little larger.
I did already have a Hue hub for bulbs so the integration was easy with no drivers - so I don’t know how they work without a Hue hub. Sensor f/w update and some config can be done via the Hue app but routines in ST work just like with the ST sensors.
I’ve been using a Fibaro Multi-sensor for about 5 years now. It’s small, works well, and batteries last a LONG time. Unfortunately the specific model I purchased is no longer available.
