Multi sensor as moisture sensor?

(Igen) #1

Has anyone tried rigging up a SmartSense multi sensor as a moisture sensor (using the contact sensor capability)? How well does it work?

I have nothing for you except speculation. I have the everspring flood detector (well, the utilitech branded version), and it is sensitive enough that it you bridge the probes with a fingertip it will go off. I suspect that there’s some electronic magic that makes it super sensitive, more so than just a contact sensor would be. If you have a multi, you could bridge the contacts the same way to see how sensitive it is.
