Monoprice In-Wall On/Off Module 11989

So, I got one of these relays and installed it. It was operating very oddly until I read @Layton’s post and reprogrammed it for a single switch. Here is how I have it installed:

  1. Blue, Black - tied to the terminal of the switch with the live wire.
  2. Green - goes to the other switch terminal.
  3. White - goes to neutral.
  4. Red - pigtailed with the load wire.

I am using it to control a ceiling fan. Works great and I now have it connected to Echo as well.

Thanks Brad – this worked perfectly for me.

I used this module to drive a 120volt relay without any switch, I spent several hours trying to get this to work then ran across the text that @Layton posted. The key to getting it to work was to do the “blink once” programing steps, I used the Program Button.

  1. Press and hold the Program Switch on the module for about 3 seconds.
  2. If the LED blinks once, the module is configured for a Single Wall Switch without indicator.

Here is the wiring for driving a relay or any other load without a manual switch or indicator light:

Blue, Black - connected to line (hot) and relay (load) wires
White - connected to neutral and relay (load) wires
Green - not connected
Yellow - not connected
Red - connected to the neutral wire.

After connecting and programming as above the module is operating consistently.
