Modify existing/native Matter drivers?

Hi All,

Is it possible to modify existing/native drivers?

I’ve connected via Matter Google Nest Thermostat to Smartthings Hub Station, It’s connected without issues and uses “SmartThings driver for Matter thermostat devices” by default.

I noticed that in Google Home, the thermostat also shows the humidity percentage but in the SmartThings app there is no such value, I guess because it’s missing in capabilities in the driver.

Is it possible to somehow find and modify that driver and add a new capability?

The driver certainly supports relative humidity in a number of different profiles. Whether your device has matched to one of those profiles is the question.

Are you accessing it via Matter in Google Home or via the native integration? Just wondering if the device actually supports humidity in Matter.
