I just got this new sensor to replace my Homeseer ones that stop reporting illuminance randomly. Set up went fine. Last night the sensor reported presence all night (in an office with no one there and blinds closed). Also, now the illuminance is not updating. Looking at the Meross app, it appears this is on the Meross end, not ST. Has anyone else experienced this? It also looks like the illuminance resolution is pretty limited- can anyone confirm?
Replace it with an Aqara FP2. Very fast response times and the illuminance sensor works independently from the presence sensor.
I have had a MS600 installed out at camp for about 6 weeks. It hasn’t gotten a lot of use but I have had no issues.
I can see the illumination is changing during the day, every day every when there is no change in presence. So it must be independent of presence or motion.
The illumination values may be lower than my Tuya presence sensor, but it is all relative. Figure out what works for you and use that value in your automations.
The following graph is in the living room with the drapes on the picture window closed.
I may check it out. Put in ticket with Meross in any case.
Are you only looking at illuminance? It defiantly seems choppy though.
The graph only shows illumination, no one was at the cabin that day.
I believe it was a snowy day, so light levels were changing as the snow moved in an out.
The graph was from Home Assistant.
The sensor is connected to SmartThings via Matter. Home Assistant is connected to SmartThings via a cloud integration. I don’t have a Home Assistant server at camp, so I couldn’t use a Matter integration with HA.
Resolution seems better today and Prescence working as expected. Hopefully the first day of use got rid of the gremlins.
