Lights not reliably switching off

(Sam Richards) #1

I’m looking at my garage light that is currently on. It should have switched off quite a while ago.

When I look at the developer log:

Garage (Device) Events — displayed | all | from device
Date	Source	Type	Name	Value	Displayed Text	Changed
2014-10-26 6:25:10.271 PM PDT
28 minutes ago	COMMAND off	off command was sent to Garage	true
2014-10-26 6:25:10.143 PM PDT
28 minutes ago	APP_COMMAND off	Garage sent off command to Garage	true
2014-10-26 6:23:39.416 PM PDT
29 minutes ago	COMMAND off	off command was sent to Garage	true
2014-10-26 6:23:39.305 PM PDT
29 minutes ago	APP_COMMAND off	Garage sent off command to Garage	true
2014-10-26 6:20:02.359 PM PDT
33 minutes ago	DEVICE Garage is now inactive	false
2014-10-26 6:18:38.718 PM PDT
34 minutes ago	DEVICE /digital switch	on	Garage switch is on	true
2014-10-26 6:18:38.657 PM PDT
34 minutes ago	DEVICE Garage is now active

I see that it was sent a signal to get turned off, but do I take this to mean that the signal was sent, but not received?

What I dont understand from this log is what is the difference between "Displayed’, “All” and “From Device”, the fact that the “Device Digital” one is white, means what?
This is getting triggered from an aeon motion sensor, and I was starting to think that it was a problem with the sensor, but now I’m not so sure.

I’m starting to feel like I need to have a separate cron-job checking the status and resetting it, but that seems really lame. Is there another approach?

Sam.
