Light switch replacement

I currently have 10 Osram bulbs (mix of RGBW and Tunable White) and am looking to replace the rest of the bulbs in my kitchen and entryway. Being able to dim the lights and change the color temperature is a must. Should I look at a regular smart switch and just dim the lights using the bulbs or should I get a dimmable smart switch?

You cannot dim smart bulbs with a smart switch. Since you want to change the color of the bulbs, you are going to have to go with smart bulbs and with that many, you might want to use their hub. I think there is a limit to how many you can control in SmartThings.

@kahilzinger is right, don’t combine smart bulbs with any kind of dimmer, smart or dumb.

And you shouldn’t really use a smart or dumb switch to cut the power on and off to smart bulbs either.

If you’re looking for a way to control your smart bulbs locally with some type of controller on the wall, read this FAQ.
