Leave lights on when I leave/have lights stay on when I arrive

How would you set this up using CoRE?

If I’m at home and my family room light is on and I leave and my presence changes to away how do I keep the family room light and when I arrive back the family room light stays on?

That sounds like you want your lights on all the time…? Just leave them on.

I just really started using Smartthings a few days ago. Testing it now…not really in production.

But, this simply sounds like a Routine adjustment or setup.

Set up a routine where after X number of minutes the lights turn off. Increase the number of minutes and then your lights won’t turn off when you are still active.

I would move to WebCoRE…Everything can be programmed on your regular computer screen, instead of your phone…and it’s a lot more sophisticated. Once you set it up, you can program something like ‘if’ family room light is on AND your presence is on, leave that light on. You could do the same thing for ‘if’ you arrive, turn on the family room light.

You follow the logic then ask yourself does it make sense?

If I’m at home=If presence sensor is present
and
my family room light is on=If light is on
and
I leave and my presence changes to away how do I keep the family room light (On)?= If light is on and If presence sensor changes to not present
and
when I arrive back the family room light stays on?=If light is on and If presence sensor changes to present

Now what are you really asking?
Sounds like you are saying if the light was on and you either leave or come back then the light should stay on? So…Hmmm…

Should you really be asking, “When should the light go off?” because the above rule doesn’t accomplish anything.
