KP115 device going offline

I had my KP115’s connected via local Wifi. Half of them will no longer connect to Smartthings. I reset them to no avail. It appears they got updated firmware and that is preventing connection for some of them. It is strange that some connect and others do not. I can get them reconnected thru C2C integration, but then I lose power monitoring which is key to many of my automations.

if you are using the custom Edge driver, read the following: TP-Link Kasa Edge Driver (also LIFX) - #329 by Paul_Oliver

But how can you create automations with the KP115 plugs based on energy consumption, if SmartThings only gives you the option to turn them on or off based on time?

If you use the TP-Link Kasa Edge Driver voltage, current, power and energy are exposed to SmartThings and are usable in automations. The problem is the driver is orphaned and has not been updated in a couple years.

When they were directly connected, I also got power usage.

Hi, @KenW48360
If the C2C integration works but you need to use a custom driver to connect the device, it means it wasn’t certified as WWST as a Hub-Connected device to ensure its support in the SmartThings platform.

The capabilities available for the device on the SmartThings side depend on the partner, since they own the code, and they submit the certification with such information.

So, if you’re missing capabilities, we suggest you contact their support team to request the addition of them.
