Kidde Cloud–SmartThings Integration: Questions on Dashboard Display for Multi-Capability Devices

Hi SmartThings,

We have implemented a cloud-to-cloud integration between the Kidde Cloud and the SmartThings Cloud. During our integration testing, we observed a few behaviors and would appreciate your guidance on them. All of the mentioned devices are defined as custom device profiles.

The following devices and capabilities were tested:
1.Smoke + CO Device
This device supports both Smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) capabilities. When smoke is detected, the Smoke alarm status is displayed on the SmartThings dashboard. However, when CO is detected, the CO alarm status is only visible in the device’s detailed view and is not displayed on the dashboard.

Is there a way to display both Smoke and CO alarm states on the dashboard? Alternatively, is there a limitation that allows only one capability to be configured as the primary dashboard state?

2.CO-IAQ (CO + Air Quality Health Concern Device)

This device supports both Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Air Quality Health Concern capabilities. We observed that when the dashboard main state is configured as Carbon Monoxide Detector, only the CO alarm status is displayed on the dashboard. Similarly, when the dashboard main state is configured as Air Quality Health Concern, only the Air Quality Health Concern status is displayed.

Based on our testing, it appears that only one capability can be selected as the main state for the dashboard view.

Is there a way to display both CO and Air Quality Health Concern statuses on the dashboard simultaneously? Alternatively, is there a limitation that allows only a single capability to be configured as the dashboard’s main state?

3.Battery Status
In the Android SmartThings application, battery status values such as Warning, Critical, and Normal are displayed alongside the battery indicator icon. However, in the iOS application, only the battery indicator icon is displayed, and the corresponding text status is not shown.

Is this expected behavior, or is there a difference in how battery status is handled between the Android and iOS applications?

4.Device Online/Offline Status
For online devices, the dashboard does not explicitly display an Online status. However, when a device goes offline, the dashboard correctly displays an Offline status.
Is this expected application behavior, or is there a way to have the Online status displayed on the dashboard as well?

Thank you for your assistance. We look forward to your guidance on these observations.

Attached screenshots corresponding to each observation for your review and reference.

Thanks & Regards,
Kidde Team
