Kasa Light bulbs, some off-line

Hi.

I have several Kasa smart lightbulbs integrated to smarthub (aerotec model). There are a couple bulbs that frequently go off-line … so commands / routines fail. :frowning: When I open the Smartthings hub / app they go “back online” when I click them or at worst, trigger diagnostics … no other intervention is needed.

I’ve tried reconnecting the kasa login several times.

What could explain this devious behavour of these errant bulbs :slight_smile:

What model and how are they connected? Kasa cloud integration or Matter over WiFi?

They are dimmable while , KL110 and dimmable mulit color KL125. Both firmware 1.0.13.

Both the white and multi color are naughty… For example a pair to lights in same lamp same area just one goes offline…

All connect via cloud integration. If possible, advisable to shift to matter… Grateful for a steer on how to do that …

Since you already have an Aeotec SmartThings hub, I’d strongly recommend replacing the Kasa Wifi bulbs with either Zigbee bulbs (Sengled, IKEA, Philips, …) or even better with Matter over Thread bulbs (Nanoleaf Essentials or the upcoming Aqara bulbs). Everything would work locally without the need for a third-party cloud.
