The app shows all of my hue lights (integrated via Blue Yeti driver) and several other devices as offline. But the automations operate those devices correct (or most of them). What’s going on?
Have a look at the latter posts here, may be of help regarding Hue,
One of the omissions from Rules (or at least the documented Rules) is the ability to decide if a Rule should continue to run if one or more of the devices it uses is marked as offline, which it currently does. Ideally there should be conditions based on the connection status.
Similarly, but at the opposite extreme, it would be good to allow the user to decide whether a device being marked as offline is sufficient reason for the mobile app to stop talking to it completely as it currently does.
The problem is that an ‘offline’ device is one that ST has reason to think is offline. That is not the same as actually being offline.
Do the devices come back online when automations run successfully? That’s typically a sign that the device doesn’t behave quite as ST expects it too when nothing is going on.
If the devices stay offline despite automations succeeding that is somewhat more worrying.
So the general problem isn’t unusual or contradictory, even if it isn’t how it ought to be.
More specifically I would be looking to see what Hue users have been saying lately. They do seem to have a lot of adventures.
No they don’t get back online after an automation runs unfortunately.
I’ve been rebuilding my hue setup within Smartthings a month ago with the new bridge and everything seemed to work fine…
Try the suggestion above. If you recently had a power outage or a reboot of the hubs, they may be having an issue with a race condition on startup. It’s in the queue to look at it, but a simple refresh generally resolves it.
Well that worked, thanks a lot!
Just checking, are you still able to see a list of offline devices… and if so are you using the latest app version (1.7.5 I think)? Bc I can’t for the life of me figure out a way to see a consolidated offline list. Thanks!
From home tab, select “…” menu → manage hubs → click on your hub and scroll to bottom. This shows all offline devices but isn’t as useful or convenient as the old dashboard offline icon
I’m having the same issue. The work around works temporary, but I schedule a restart of the Mesh Every evening. So it a bit of a pain
