Surprising as this could cannibalize sales of Apple TVs.
I’m guessing Apple makes good money off music and movies. And now that they’re getting into original content they’ll want to get onto as many devices as possible. They’re now on the most popular smart speaker platform and the most popular TV manufacturer.
What would be interesting is if Apple and Samsung struck up a deal. iTunes on the Samsung TVs for making SmartThings HomeKit compatible. Not really sure if that makes much sense, but it’s fun to speculate.
