This does not seem to only be an issue with the new skill, as I have been having this same issue with the original skill. I have not updated any of this on mine I am still using the old skill and classic app.
I have had two rooms that used to work but now don’t. Even though the devices are set as lights Alexa doesn’t seem to recognize them and I can’t say turn on or off the lights.
