Hello there, something that I’d define as one of the weirdest interactions has been happening to me.
I have an Aqara Smart Plug that I control with an Edge Driver I got from here, which is connected to a TV. I use it to measure when the TV is on for some automations.
At the same time, I have a Sonoff button, which, when pressed once, turns on/off a Smart Bulb connected to a Philips Hue bridge, and when pressed twice, turns on/off two different Smart Bulbs at once, also connected to the Hue Bridge.
However, when pressing once and only once, the Smart Bulbs turns on/off but at the same time it turns off/on the Smart Plug connected to the TV. There is no automation that would cause this to happen, they are in separate rooms (I’d say the farthest they could be actually) and I tried reconnecting both the bulb and the button several times.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what could be the cause, any guess?
Zigbee groups will do this, and sometimes devices come with a pre-assigned group in their firmware. This is particularly true for devices, which are sometimes sold in a kit with a handheld remote but it can happen with anything.
It’s not always possible to permanently change the Zigbee group assigned to the device if it is part of the firmware. Can you give the exact models of your devices? Hopefully someone will know.
And here’s more discussion about zigbee groups and smartthings. This may not apply to the specific devices you have, though.
Correct. Only if the button is pressed, if I use Alexa or the ST app to turn on the bulb, nothing happens. Also, it doesn’t happen every single time, it seems random
Usually the quickest way to find custom edge drivers is to look on the quick browse lists in the community-created wiki. In this case, you can look on the list for “pocket sockets/smart plugs “. Then just look for the one with aqara in the title.
