Is there a way to figure out GitHub settings from a URL

(Joel W) #1

I have a few Device handlers and a few SmartApps which I can’t figure out the proper GitHub settings for the IDE. Is there a way to find those settings out from the GitHub link?

Yes!

What’s the URL (link)…?

https://github.com/SmartThingsUle/Wemo Thanks terry.

Try this… (i.e., the Clone or Download Button… I think, is the Git Repo URL to be used in SmartThings).

I don’t know what I am missing but I even installed Desktop GitHub, but couldn’t find a way to see the settings.

What I need the setting for is the IDE settings for GitHub for this URL https://github.com/SmartThingsUle/Wemo

Isn’t owner = SmartThingsUle
Name = Wemo
Branch = master ?

But the reoo isn’t using the right folder structure, so it might not work.

Well it took the entry, but when I click update from repo the directories are blank.

I’m pretty certain that a Repo is not SmartThings compatible if it doesn’t use the exactly correct folder / directory structure. Compare it to a working repo and you’ll see what I mean.

You’re aware that a specific directory structure is required, right?

Yes I thought so, but I figured this developer has done lots of things and figured it would be correct. But I guess wrong.

Never assume… Right?

Yes I should know better, it has gotten me into trouble before. Getting ready for Mar 1st, got to be stressful.
