iOS 2.3.5 - Release Notes

It isn’t. Alas, the things we know nothing of probably take priority…

It’s “been quite the debate internally”.

This is what @Aaron said at the time. Point #3 is most relevant and unfortunately explicitly promises nothing, not even an update on possible future internal discussions about the community’s feedback.

Yes, it goes something like this… This has been a heated debate internally. There are two sides. The side that uses SmartThings and the rest of us. The side that users ST wants it, the other side doesn’t. After 23 hours of debate including on average 4 persons per hour which adds up to 92 person hours we have decided to no make this change as it will involve a total of 22 hours of labor (development, test, release, communications to those bastards in the forums) in an off cycle release. It would only involve 8 hours in an on cycle release, however that’s still too much. Good news, it is in the backlog, just above or below (probably below) the migration tool. However, all that said I am going to lock this thread as it is getting out of hand and off topic.

Core still won’t load. I have about 40 pistons and I get the spinning wheel and then nothing whenever I try to open it. Clicking 5-10 times and I might get lucky and get it to open. Other SmartApps seem to be ok. Seriously annoying.

unfortunately 40 pistons is probably 10-15 too many. You might have to split it into multiple installs. I have 16 installs due to the 20 second time limit.

I put in a support ticket on this yesterday - maybe a few more would be useful - it’s very annoying

Ugh, I just got logged out for the first time. ST actually made it more difficult to login with their new login process. I used to be able to “just” use a password manager. Now I have to manually enter my username hit next and then use my password manager to enter the password.

Thanks, your the best!

Oh, +100 points for fixing the missing widget when you get logged out, NOT!

Yup :confounded:. As a major developer, I have 10 test accounts. Logout & login is an activity I do multiple times a day.

By breaking LastPass compatibility for the IDE login, SmartThings is causing me a lot of frustration.

I hear they are working on it though.

LastPass still works for me on macOS with Chrome. Just need to put my email address in the first screen and then on the second screen I get prompted by LP for all of test accounts.

I get prompted too (Windows Chrome), but it won’t auto-fill the password. I have to use the copy/paste option.

Update… hmmm… Upon another attempt, it seems that if I use LastPass on the first screen (email login prompt only), then I can subsequently use LastPass again to auto-fill the password.

So it still takes two extra “clicks”… but that’s better than the extra 4 clicks that copy-paste takes. Savings … 2 clicks?

Just a heads up we just released a new version of the iOS client (2.3.6). This includes a few top reported crashes and addresses more of the logout issues. This will also address a issue being reported about mobile presence.

SmartThings iOS 2.3.6 includes Hotfixes for enhanced stability.

• Improvement for logout issue experienced by some users.
• Many top reported crashes fixed.
• Improved mobile presence issues reported by users.

Does this return the Geopresence behavior for multiple locations to the way it was before the last update?

Don’t forget about us Android users!

This is an IOS thread…

Yeah I know, but I’ll advertise shamelessly on this thread… Our release was terrible and needs some serious love.

Yes it does.

We didn’t forget about you Android users. We have a hotfix pending as well and are verifying the changes. I will post over in that thread with an update for everyone.

So those things are easier to fix than the recent regression where the PRIMARY_TITLE of a multiTile() is smaller than the SECONDARY_TITLE?

Not everyone using the app has the vision of a teenager…

That awkward moment when beta users are lagging behind production
