Did try via Google Home. No succes. (I do use Home for switching off the Alpstuga light. Just somewhat easier than changing the driver to switch in ST.
I do not want factory reset.
I understand that Home assistant can do the job.
So one of our Ensteins here?
Oops and another request. In Sharptools it does not show KW/h at energy but watts. More difficult to read. My other switches, like Fibaro, give KW/h (in fact divided by 1000) In the ST app Grillplats shows the correct KW/h .
The actual energy counter of GRILLPLATS cannot be reset, there is no Matter option for that.
You can fake it with SmartThings stock drivers, there is a resetEnergyMeter command (or create a manually run routine that calls Energy meter reset) but that’s just the driver substracting the value reported by the plug when you “reset it” from the actual value reported by the plug.
In other words, in other Matter platforms you will still see the actual energy value and will be different from the one displayed by SmartThings. But since you use SharpTools, the fake reset value will get there too so will serve your purpose.
Regarding units, that’s just presentation so it’s on the service displaying it how it displays.
Matter has no standard command to reset the energy meter and so far they are adhering to standard features.
Use the fake reset in SmartThings, just mind in other Matter platforms (or other drivers) you will see the non-reset value since it’s not a real reset.
Glad it helped, to be honest I don’t like that fake reset since it only applies to stock driver in SmartThings, everywhere else you will see the actual value reported by the plug.
Mind the fake reset value will be gone if you switch drivers or have to remove it from SmartThings for whatever reason and re-add it, plus in other places you will still see the actual value. I would probably write down the actual non-reset energy value just in case, at least for the most power-hungry devices where data is more important.
Yeah, Sharptools will display it correctly because the value is fed by SmartThings.
If you switch the driver or look at the value in other platform where the plug is added via Matter, you will see the non-reset value since there was no actual reset in the plug.
