Hub randomly goes offline at night

#1

Current hardware:
ST hub v2, latest firmware
Cradlepoint MBR1200B wireless router, latest firmware
Verizon u620L LTE cellular modem directly connected to the cradlepoint router.

Been researching here for the last few weeks to address what is going on with my ST v2 hub and connectivity. Every week or 2 for the last couple months my ST hub reports it is offline with a push notification to my phone. This always happens overnight, usually between midnight and 6 am local time. I have checked the logs on the router itself, and have never encountered an outage in those logs. These outages are anywhere from 1-3 hours and seem to be almost exactly an hour. The latest outage was this morning 12:28am to 4:23 am local EST time. Smartthings at the graph.api site showed no issues, the router reported no issues in the logs.

Verizon tech support said that from 1:20-1:30 am the modem had no data sessions which was unusual for our usage patterns. Then there was a single data session from 1:30 am - 6:26 am which is unusually long for a data session. This was a “Send” session with data going out to the network only, no received data.

The only device online during the outages in the hub itself as this is at a business, no portable devices are there and no computers are on during this time. Since this is a business I am not there at these times to physically see what is going on. But it seems like the hub itself is dropping its connection to the network, as the router and the modem dont seem to have issues generally during these times.

I did a test and unplugged the ethernet cable from the hub, waited 1 minute, and 10 minutes to simulate an internet outage, and the hub reconnected within a few seconds of restoring the connection.

Any ideas? This is getting frustrating with the random connection drops that don’t seem related to my other hardware.

Thanks for any help!
