I just wanted to give an update on things just in case other people have the same situation.
Smartthings are arranging a replacement but I thought I would try one last thing. I wondered had the hub reset to factory or something similar. So I deleted the hub from https://graph-eu01-euwest1.api.smartthings.com/ by moving all the devices to the location not the hub.
I then tried to add the hub again in the Iphone app but it didn’t find the hub using the original welcome code.
I decided to press the button on the back of the hub for a long time. After between 5-10 seconds the light on the front went red and the hub rebooted. The hub started to connect again with the light going blue. After a while my Iphone popup and said Hub Activated.
Sure enough the hub went Active on https://graph-eu01-euwest1.api.smartthings.com/ on my account. I reconnected the zigbee devices to the hub rather than location and things worked again. My Hue lights didn’t work and I needed to remove and reconnect them.
So long story short everything is working perfectly again. To me this points to a software problem somewhere on the hub but clearly isn’t a hardware issue.
Unsure whether I will send this back as it seems the issue could happen again.
Hopefully this helps others, rather than waiting for replacements and repairs. It is annoying though having to re-setup everything.
Submitted a ticket when my hub when in-active never got a reply. Luckily however many reboots (and hours) later it came back again. In the last hour its gone offline again - pain this time is that I’m the other side of the country… no reboot possible… This hub is starting to give me more things to worry about then it prevents!
Can you email support@SmartThings.co.UK again? Did you get a case or ticket number with your first email? If so, send it to me 1-1 and I’ll see if I can figure out how your ticket got lost in the shuffle.
Done. Annoyingly I’m not home for another few days. Had to phone the person I have looking after the house and tell them to bring a torch just as not every lamp or light is easily controllable manually. Very embarrassing!
