I live in India and just bought a new Narwal Freo X Ultra i want to add it to SmartThings for deeper integration with my current ecosystem. I might have gone for the Tapo RV30 plus and other Dreame models, but I didn’t go through because of their low-pressure vacuums, and they might not have supported SmartThings anyway, just like Narwal. Narwal also had better mopping capabilities suitable for the hard floors.
I want to add my vacuum robot to the system, I recently came to know the Ewelink platform, but I suspect it won’t be possible through it. If there is any way to make it work please tell me.
The easiest integration will be if you choose a matter – compatible vacuum as smartthings does support those. You will still have to use the vacuum’s own app for some things, in particular anything to do with mapping, but you should typically at least be able to start and stop the vacuum.
i’m not sure which models available in India are matter-compatible at the time of this posting, though.
That’s why I wanted to buy the Dream X40 Ultra because of its upcoming Matter support, but it is a problem in itself because we don’t know when they will launch the firmware with this particular upgrade; until then, it is the same as others.
Now that the deed has been done, do I need to check with their OEM for further reach, or is there any possibility of Google, Amazon, or Siri integration?
I think you guys got misled when I wrote Google, Amazon, or Siri integration. I meant that there was any way to add it to the SmartThings ecosystem via them if possible. I know I can add it to Google or Amazon but third-party integration to SmartThings like Ewelink cube ( for switches ) or others.
The short answer is yes, using virtual devices and Alexa routines (not smartthings routines— the ones you set up in the Alexa app.)
But the functionality is limited and the long explanation is really long and to be honest, I just got out of hospital last week and I’m too tired to go into all the details.
here’s the community FAQ that explains how it works. If you have any questions about it after reading that, hopefully others will be able to help you.
