How do I get a routine to set a dimmer to 1%?

#1

I installed a smart dimmer and I would like to create a few routines that set the dimmer to 1%, 2%, 5% and 100%, but the app only allows me to set it to multiples of 10%.

The app interface allows you to do things that are useless (there is no appreciable difference between 90% and 100%, but doesn’t allow you to do something useful (1% is half as bright as 2%). Both the values allowed in the routine and the way the slider works should use a logarithmic scale…

How do I get a routine to set a dimmer to 1%?

Unfortunately, I don’t think that you can. I use webCoRe to to adjust my lights below the 10% mark.

I found a solution: I can create a scene with lights set to 1% and activate that instead of directly turning on the light.

Very nice. I completely forgot about scenes. I had set mine up before the ST app had scene capability.

That is the correct solution.

Scenes will work.

But if you need other features of a Routine like a motion sensors, locks, etc then create the Routine and have it trigger a WebCoRE piston.
