> 1. I want to use a combination of a temperature sensor and outlet to keep the temperature in a room at or above a certain point. But not all the time. So for example, from 6:00-8:00am, if the temp reported from a multipurpose (or motion) sensor falls below 75°, then turn on the outlet. Once the temp gets to or above 75, turn the outlet off. Keep that schedule going until 8:00, then stop.

You have an answer to question 1. So for question 2, the only thing I can find in native Smart Apps would require you to set up different modes. So if you had a Mode from 6-8, then a different Mode, it should work.
This would be under Marketplace - Smart Apps - Climate Control - Virtual Thermostat.
So if you don’t mind creating custom modes, then this will do fine.

If you don’t want custom modes if they will interfere with other things, then you might want to look at something a little more complex but a lot more customizable like CoRe.

Download the smartapp from here: This is the documentation: (under construction) [http://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=CoRE](http://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=CoRE) Get help here: And this is the guy that makes the magic: @ady624

> This is a noob’s post created by a noob. EDIT: 9/9/16 updated some links and added some newer info (Amazon’s Alexa, etc.) EDIT: 9/10/16 updated some key info not mentioned in the install links I’ve started this not because I know a bunch about CoRE (Community’s own Rules Engine), in fact it’s quite the opposite. Instead I’m just pulling together some helpful tips which got me get started and got me up and running with this outstanding rule engine for Smartthings. There is a lot info out there mainly designed to help people do amazing things with CoRE, but it was hard to find the “for Dummies” type info. And very hard for me (a true noob) to get started. Hopefully this post will help others who may not have ever added a custom smartapp to the IDE or maybe never even have had to log i…

But maybe somone else knows an App that might trigger an outlet based on Time and temp sensor??
