I did try it, many times, and it didn’t work
At this point, I would suggest manually installing the zigbee-thermostat driver from the Production Channel. Then download the ST CLI so that you can do driver logging while attempting to pair the device with the hub. You can run the CLI on a Linux/Windows/macOS computer and use the command “smartthings edge:drivers:logcat” to capture what is happening while the pairing is being attempted. Once you invoke the command, you will be prompted for which driver to do the logging.
Should that not yield any output, I would then use the “all drivers” option of the command “smartthings edge:drivers:logcat -a” and attempt the pairing again.
Once you have output from the command, cut and paste here using the Preformatted text option.
Andreas, two (out of 4) of my convectors are now linked through the pilote you provided. I don’t even know how it happened because they did not show up on the app while it was on pairing mode. Still working on connecting the remaining two (I cross my fingers). Many thanks!!! I’ll keep you posted
Hello,
I’m having the exact same problem as you and was wondering if you managed to fix everything. If so, did you just install the driver that Andreas suggested?
I don’t know what to try anymore.
Thank you,
Mike
Hi Mike,
Unfortunately, I have only managed to connect 2 covectors out of the 4 that I have so far. The convectors and/or the Smartthings station could just be crap products.
However, I haven’t had much time in the last few days to do more trials. I have not tried for example what h0ckeysk8er suggests. I expect to do it this week.
But I have low expectations at this point.
I will continue updating this thread with anything new.
Thanks again to all of you who have tried to help me so far!
If you use Android… have you received the latest update for the app?
I have tried what h0ckeysk8er suggested but I get absolutely no output related to the pairing process. The Convector seems to connect automatically to Zigbee channel 14 in a few seconds (which is my Hub channel), but I see nothing in the app and can’t access it at all. The convector “connection icon” stays on like it’s connected, though.
Yeap, but it hasn’t changed anything unfortunately.
Do you have a Smartthings Hub V3? My convector was working flawlessly with my old V2 Hub…
If you get zero output doing driver logging with the “-a” option, then the hub is not communicating with the devices in any way. You should at least see Zigbee messages coming into the hub, even if the hub isn’t able to process them for some reason.
Hello everyone!
I am closing this topic because nothing works.
I still can’t add my 2 other convectors.
In addition, I bought a smart electrical charge controller from Sinopé this week and the same problem occurs.
The device connects to the Smartthings station (the light stops flashing and turns solid blue, which means that the device is connected) but it does not appear on the application (in pairing mode) or on the advanced web page of my.smartthings.
It is listed as compatible by Samsung and Sinopé.
If you are curious, check out the product webpage: Smart electrical load controller 50 A – Zigbee | Sinopé Technologies
So I am done with Smartthings, I will move on to another more reliable gateway.
Many thanks to all for your help.
I appreciated it!
Steve
I had the exact same problem and was finally able to get it working, albeit it really wasn’t intuitive.
I paired the device, but again having the SmartThings app not pickup the device.
However, what made it work was powering off the convector (at the breaker panel) and powering it back on.
Somehow it worked for one convector and then I had to repeat the steps a few times for the others to get picked up.
The exact steps:
1 - Make sure you have the Mariano Zigbee Thermostat MC driver installed.
2 - Hard reset convector through menu 7.7.
3 - Once reset, set into pairing mode (menu 1).
4 - Set the SmartThings app into pairing mode - Wait until the convector locks on to your zigbee channel.
4 - Wait a few minutes or until the pairing process fails in the SmartThings app.
5 - Exit the SmartThings app.
6 - Power off breaker to convector - wait 30 seconds
7 - Power breaker back on and open SmartThings app.
8 - Repeat if device doesn’t show up in the SmartThings app (under no room)
Hi Nicolas,
Finally, my convectors are all connected!
It worked the first time for the first one, however I had to repeat the operation a couple of times for the second one.
Also, they only appeared when I clicked on the Temperature button in the new Dashboard box on the Home page (another possible way to go?!).
A big thank you to you, Andreas, Mariano and all those who tried to give me a hand.
Cheers!
